Hindi Typing Test — FAQ
Is the Hindi typing test free?
Yes. The TypingMonk Hindi typing test is completely free and works online in your browser with no sign-up. It supports both Mangal (Unicode) and Kruti Dev typing and measures your WPM and KDPH.
What is the difference between Mangal and Kruti Dev typing?
Mangal is a Unicode font typed using the InScript keyboard layout and is the standard for most modern government exams like SSC CHSL and RRB NTPC. Kruti Dev is a legacy, non-Unicode font typed using the Remington layout, still used by some state exams such as UPSSSC.
What is KDPH in Hindi typing?
KDPH stands for Key Depressions Per Hour. It equals your WPM × 5 × 60. For example, 30 WPM is about 10,500 KDPH. Many government typing exams specify the requirement in KDPH rather than WPM.
What typing speed is required for SSC and other government exams?
SSC CHSL requires about 30 WPM (10,500 KDPH) in Mangal, SSC MTS about 25 WPM, RRB NTPC 30 WPM, and UPSSSC around 25 WPM in Kruti Dev. Always verify the exact requirement in the official recruitment notification, as it varies by state and year.
